Victoria and Cristina Iglesias have made a rare public appearance to honor the memory of their late cousin, Niccolo, who died at the age of 20. The twin daughters of Julio Iglesias and Miranda Rijnsburger, who are famously private about their personal lives, shared heartfelt tributes marking the second anniversary of his death.
Cristina posted a photo from her graduation dance alongside Niccolo. “The greatest gift of my life was being your cousin. Two years without you, and I still look for you in everything," she wrote.
Victoria shared a separate post showing the twins lying on the grass with him, calling him “Our hero."
“I’d do anything to hear your voice again, Nico. I will love you forever.”
Remembering Niccolo
Niccolo, known to his family as Nico, passed away on February 4, 2024, following a battle with cancer. He was the son of music producer and Iglesias Entertainment founder Jorge Iglesias and his wife Alessandra, and was the grandson of Carlos Iglesias, Julio Iglesias’ brother.
Born and raised in Miami, Niccolo’s health deteriorated rapidly during Christmas 2023, resulting in his hospitalization. His death was a devastating blow to the close-knit Iglesias family, and remains a loss that continues to affect them years later.
A legacy of hope: Niccolo’s Light Foundation
After his passing, Niccolo’s family established Niccolo’s Light, a nonprofit organization created to support cancer patients and their families through the most difficult stages of the disease. In her first public address, his mother Alessandra shared the foundation’s mission:
“Niccolo was a being of light who fought with strength and positivity against brain cancer. He believed he would win this battle, and for that reason, he had decided to dedicate the rest of his life to helping those he had seen suffer with his own eyes, especially children.”
“The illness won, but it doesn’t have to have the last word. As a family, we are committed to fulfilling his wish: to help those living through immense suffering, pain that affects not only the patient, but the entire family.”
The foundation’s goal is to ease the financial and emotional burden that many of these families face, covering medical expenses, costly experimental treatments, and supporting parents forced to stop working to care for their children.
A bond that never faded
Niccolo shared a close bond with his cousins, especially with Julio and Miranda’s children. During a charity gala at the Rotary Club of Marbella, attended by Miranda and her daughters, the family recalled a wedding held in 2008 at La Concepción estate in Marbella, where Niccolo and his sister Giulia served as ring bearers. He was four years old.
Only two years younger than Victoria and Cristina, Niccolo remained a constant presence in their lives. He attended the twins’ debut at Le Bal, the prestigious Parisian debutante ball, where he proudly served as their cavalier, with these moments captured in images previously published by ¡HOLA!.
