Puka Nacua may be best known for his work on the football field, but he also seems like a professional when it comes to a little trolling. The wide receiver recently made headlines when he shot his shot at Sydney Sweeney on X, formerly known as Twitter, but now people are confused about whether or not they actually do have something going on.

In a recent Cosmopolitan interview, the Euphoria star described her ideal match as “athletic and outgoing and funny,” adding that she’s a “sporty girl” who wants someone who can climb mountains and go skydiving with her.
On January 30, Nacua reposted the quote on X, writing, "Love skydiving.” His tweet went viral with over 19M impressions. There were thousands of comments from people hyping him up.
While it started as a joke, he leaned into it at the Pro Bowl Games on February 3. In a TikTok clip making the rounds, Nacua was asked by Overtime about an upcoming date with Sweeney on Wednesday, and he leaned all the way in. “I’m gonna jump out of a plane, coach. Full send,” he said, referencing the “No fear” mantra he wears on his cleats.
The reporter asked if he was nervous, and he leaned into it, saying he was "nervous" and "lost a lot of weight" this week.
Scooter Braun probably isn't laughing
While the internet is laughing about the situation, there is one man who probably doesn't think it's funny - Sweeney's boyfriend, Scooter Braun. Sources told Page Six last month that the controversial manager finds it “incredibly disrespectful” when athletes slide into her DMS.

Nacua's love life
As for Nacua’s real love life, the day after his viral tweet, he was spotted out with Lele Pons' best friend, Hannah Stocking. On January 31, a day after the Tweet, the two were seen leaving a dinner together in West Hollywood.
If they are dating, it seems like Stocking has a great sense of humor, so maybe she could see past him publicly hitting on one of the most desired actresses in Hollywood.
He was previously in a relationship with Hallie Aiono from 2021 to 2025. The two welcomed a son in October 2025, months after Aiono filed a petition to determine parental relationship while she was 19 weeks pregnant.
