Just days after being spotted in Madrid for the premiere of his latest film 'Escape Route,' Chris Hemsworth has traded the city lights for the snowy peaks of the French Alps. This time, he’s not traveling solo, his wife Elsa Pataky and their children are along for the ride, turning what has become an annual family tradition into a full-blown winter escape.
Elsa has been sharing photos and videos from the trip, giving fans a front-row seat to their alpine adventures. The couple’s children have clearly inherited their parents’ sense of adventure, performing jaw-dropping flips and tricks on the slopes.
Elsa couldn’t resist thanking the ski instructors for keeping the family safe, writing, “Thank you to the instructors at the ski resort for taking care of us and my crazy kids.”
For Hemsworth and Pataky, these trips are more than just vacations, they’re a ritual. The couple has documented similar Alpine getaways in January 2024 and 2025, proving that skiing is a serious family affair.
Friends joined the fun this year as well, making it a lively group retreat full of laughter, snowball fights, and adrenaline-fueled runs.
From Australia to Madrid and beyond:
Before swapping snow boots for skis, the couple made a quick stop in Spain. Hemsworth flew from Australia to Madrid for the promotion of 'Escape Route,' which is set to hit theaters on February 13. But he wasn’t alone, Elsa joined him, clearly enjoying the chance to reconnect with her homeland.
While in the capital, the couple combined work and leisure. They made time to visit their trusted gym, the Metropolitan on Calle Abascal, where Elsa focused on strength training, pilates, and cardio.
Hemsworth showed his admiration for the city and its people, declaring that he loves Spain and its people, expressing his fondness for the country where his wife grew up. Elsa has clearly passed along her passion for Spain, and Chris seems more than happy to embrace it.
Inside their happy marriage:
The pair celebrated 15 years of marriage recently, something Hemsworth recently reflected on in his interview with Jay Shetty on the On Purpose podcast.
"There's always that spark and that attraction, but what it comes down to is friendship and companionship at the end. The moment you run out of things to talk about, you lack that curiosity and interest in one another, that's when it's concerning," he said.
The actor explained that part of their marriage is an "understanding that you don't entirely ever know each other and you'll continue to try and figure it out, as you're trying to have a greater understanding of yourself as well."
The actress echoed similar sentiments earlier in 2025 in Hello! Magazine, saying she and Hemsworth like to “remain curious about each other” and adapt during demanding periods. "You have to be ready to adapt, and because there are situations that separate you, you need to know how to find each other again," she said.
