Smith often shares updates on her social media, including moments when she's emotional and crying. Smith's most recent post highlights one of her favorite artists: a '90s icon, a decade of music that Smith references frequently in her own musical work.

In a selfie shared on Instagram, Smith is seen crying and looking straight at the camera. Her hair is braided, and she's wearing a grey t-shirt with a black jacket on top of it.

"Tori Amos has been single-handedly healing sections my subconscious everyday for the past month," she wrote over the image.

Amos is a singer and songwriter who's a favorite for many musicians all over the world, especially women. Her music hit the mainstream in the '90s, with the release of "Little Earthquakes" launching her as one of the most sincere and fearless songwriters of the era. The record became a commercial and mainstream success.

Over the years, Amos has continued to release music, with her recently announcing a new album titled "In Times of Dragons." The record marks her 18th studio album and is coming out this May.

Willow Smith is 25 years old, yet she has around 15 years of professional musical experience. Last year, she was nominated for her first Grammy Awards for her record "Empathogen," receiving 2 nominations for her work.

Over the years, she's played around with different genres, blending pop, rock, and jazz. "I just grew up a little bit, and I really am starting to figure out what kind of musician I really want to be," she said in an interview with Allure.

“I'm settling into more of who I am. And that doesn't mean that screaming and shredding on the guitar is not who I am because it is, but I'm going a little bit deeper. It's about being a well-rounded musician more than anything for me and not being pigeonholed into any specific genre.”

Smith revealed that while she found success in the rock genre, she's always looking to try out new things. “Everyone wanted me to make another rock album. I just always do the thing that everyone thinks is a bad idea. People thought that doing a rock album was going to be a bad idea, and then it turned out to be a good idea, and so I just have to trust myself because you live and die by your own hand. That's the life of an artist," she said.
