More details about JD and Usha's relationship
JD and Usha Vance met while they were studying their college careers at Yale University, where they both attended law school. They got married in 2014.
Usha has a long career as a lawyer, working in various firms before JD ran for Vice President with Donald Trump in 2024. “There are things that I miss and things that I'm excited to have moved on from,” she said in an interview with USA Today.
In past months, the pair's relationship has been under the eye of the media, with many wondering about the state of their relationship.
Last month, Vance addressed the rumors and speculation in an interview with NBC News, sharing that one of his kids didn't enjoy the media attention. "I think that there’s always a limelight on the kids, and that’s both good and bad,” he said. “Our 8-year-old really doesn’t like it. He wants to have as private a life as possible. When we come to an event in the White House, and he sees the cameras, he doesn’t love it, and so we try to keep him out of that limelight as much as possible."
On the other hand, his other son loves the attention. "He probably likes it too much," he said. "He loves the fact that wherever he goes, people treat him very specially. They always give him candy or cookies.”
