Christian Nodal is celebrating his birthday with his family. The Mexican singer turned 27 on Sunday, January 11th. For the occasion, he hosted a three-day celebration in Zacatecas, Mexico, the region where Pepe Aguilar and his family are based and own a stunning ranch. According to reports, Nodal received a surprising and thematically relevant present from his father-in-law.
According to the Mexican program "Ventaneando," the celebration was organized by Nodal's wife, Angela Aguilar, and hosted some of Nodal's closest friends and family. The gathering was meant to celebrate their Mexican roots, featuring many events that are typical of the Zacateca region.
In one of the celebrations, Pepe Aguilar surprised Nodal with a special present that was also a tribute to the region: a thoroughbred horse.
Dubbed "Nodal Fest," the gathering entertained guests with special events hosted each day, including food like barbecue, octopus, and more. The official birthday party was hosted on the final day of the gathering, on January 11th, with Nodal welcoming guests for a pirate-themed party where the dress code was all black, decorating dozens of wanted posters, skulls, and more.
Festivities kicked off at 6 PM, with the party hosted in a venue called "El Eden," which has a capacity for 400 people. "I'm happy here to celebrate with the people who love me," said Nodal to the cameras. "We're learning about Mexican culture in Zacatecas."
His wife, Angela Aguilar, also spoke to journalists. "We're so happy. For me, to be in Zacatecas means the world. I'm a cultural representative of the city, and bringing my husband and showing him around has been so special. We're happy celebrating his 27th birthday with my parents and our closest friends," she said.
Angela made an emphasis on her Mexican culture, and how most people feel the urge to celebrate important occasions while traveling abroad. "We always have to celebrate our country. What we have at home is amazing," she said.
An inside look at Nodal's party
According to the publication "Quien," Nodal performed for his guests, singing some of his biggest hits with mariachis. In one of the most special moments of the night, the pair sang their famous duet, "Dime Como Quieres," a song they released in 2020 and represented the start of their love story.
The group also participated in a "callejoneada," a typical activity of the region where visitors and residents walk through the gorgeous streets of the city at night while live music plays and people drink mezcal, tequila, and other spirits.
