Tommy Lee Jones and his loved ones are speaking out following the tragic passing of his daughter, Victoria Kafka Jones, at age 34.
“We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers,” the family shared in a statement obtained by Page Six on Friday night.
“Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you.” The message was signed, “The Family of Victoria Kafka Jones.”
The heartbreaking news emerged Thursday after Victoria was discovered unresponsive early that morning on the 14th floor of the Fairmont hotel in San Francisco.
According to TMZ, the 911 call tied to the New Year’s Day emergency suggested a potential overdose, citing “color change,” a term often associated with cyanosis — a condition described by the Cleveland Clinic as a “discoloration of the skin, lips or fingernails caused by a lack of oxygen in the blood.”
Although witnesses reportedly performed CPR and paramedics attempted lifesaving measures once they arrived, Victoria was declared dead at the scene.
Her official cause of death has not yet been determined. However, sources say the San Francisco Police Department did not uncover any drug paraphernalia, evidence of foul play, or indications that the death was a suicide.
A spokesperson for the Fairmont also addressed the tragedy in a statement to Page Six: “We are deeply saddened by an incident that occurred at the hotel on Jan. 1, 2026. Our heartfelt condolences are with the family and loved ones during this very difficult time.
“The hotel team is actively cooperating and supporting police authorities within the framework of the ongoing investigation.”
Victoria is survived by her parents — Jones and his former wife Kimberlea Coughley — along with her older brother, Austin, 43.
Jones and Coughley welcomed Victoria in 1991 and went on to divorce five years later after 15 years of marriage.
As a child, Victoria briefly followed in her father’s footsteps, appearing alongside him in “Men in Black II” and “The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada,” as well as making a guest appearance on a 2003 episode of “One Tree Hill.”
Though she occasionally joined her father on red carpets, Victoria’s later years were marked by legal troubles. In the year before her death, she was arrested at least twice in Napa County, California, beginning in April 2025 on charges including obstructing a peace officer, using or being under the influence of a controlled substance, and possession of a narcotic controlled substance.
Two months later, she was taken into custody in connection with domestic battery and domestic violence involving elder abuse and entered not-guilty pleas to all counts.
Victoria had also been arrested in Texas in June 2011 on theft charges involving $50 to $500, though that case was later dismissed.
