Orlando Bloom isn’t dwelling on lost love. Six months after calling off his engagement to Katy Perry, the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star is already thinking about what he wants in a future partner.
In a recent TikTok video for street style account The People Gallery, Bloom, 48, was asked whether he would “rather have a partner with style or funds.” Without missing a beat, he replied, “Both,” before laughing. “You have to pick one of those?” he added.
The actor, who shares five-year-old daughter Daisy Dove with Perry, was filmed in a casually cool look that included a tan barn jacket with a leather collar layered over a cream cable-knit sweater, patched corduroy pants, and a baseball cap.
Bloom also offered advice for those navigating rough patches. “Take action, get up, routine, do whatever. Get into your body, get out of your head if you’re in your head. Keep creating,” he said. His words reflect his own approach to moving forward after his split from Perry.
The actor previously opened up about channeling his emotions into work while promoting his movie 'The Cut.' Speaking to Today in September, he said, “I’m great. I’m so grateful. We’ve got a beautiful daughter. You know when you leave everything on the field like I did in this movie, I feel grateful for all of it.”
Despite their breakup after nearly nine years together, Bloom emphasized, “And we’re great. We’re going to be great. Nothing but love.” While Bloom charts his course forward, Perry’s love life has taken a different turn.
The pop star, 41, is now publicly dating former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, 53. The pair first sparked rumors over the summer and made their official debut as a couple in Paris in September. Recently, Perry shared a carousel on Instagram documenting their trip to Japan, where she performed on her Lifetimes Tour.
According to a source, Perry “wasn’t looking to date when they first hung out and she certainly wasn’t looking for a boyfriend,” but their connection “turned into something real” thanks to Trudeau’s persistence. “He’s shown her over and over again that he genuinely wants to see her,” the source added. “He’s flown all over the world to spend time with her while she toured. She likes spending time with him.”
Perry has not let the public eye distract her from her new romance. During a recent visit to Japan, she faced criticism for wearing an olive mini skirt and a cropped jacket during a meeting with former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife.
Fans called the outfit inappropriate for the occasion, but Perry shrugged off the comments, focusing instead on enjoying the trip with Trudeau. She shared photos of the couple strolling through a park, cuddling and sampling uni together, highlighting the romantic aspect of their travel.
Even friends are enthusiastic about Perry’s new chapter. Zooey Deschanel, a longtime friend, joked on Watch What Happens Live about their shared Canadian connections. “I’m with a Canadian guy, she’s with a Canadian guy,” Deschanel said, referencing her fiancé, reality star Jonathan Scott.
Meanwhile, Bloom continues to juggle co-parenting and personal growth. Besides Daisy, he is also the father to 14-year-old son Flynn with ex Miranda Kerr.
