Sharon Osbourne is opening up about Ozzy Osbourne's final moments. In her first interview since her husband's death in July, Sharon shared the heartbreaking last exchange she had with Ozzy.
Sharon was featured on "Piers Morgan Uncensored," sharing that Ozzy had been having trouble sleeping the night before he died. All through the night, he was getting up and then going back to bed. She said that at one point, Ozzy woke her up. “I said, 'I’m already bloody awake, you’ve woken me up,'" she said. "And he said, 'Kiss me.' And then he said, 'Hug me tight.'"
Ozzy died later that morning, after having a medical event after going downstairs to work out. He was 76 years old.
"If only I’d have told him I loved him more. If only I’d have held him tighter," said Sharon.
Sharon and Ozzy's relationship
Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne were together for most of their lives, getting married in 1982. The pair met when she was 17, and he was 22, when Ozzy was a part of Black Sabbath and Sharon's father served as his manager. The couple shares three children: Aimee, born September 2, 1983; Kelly, born October 27, 1984; and Jack, born November 8, 1985.
The pair experienced many ups and downs throughout their lives, with Ozzy directly addressing rumors of infidelity and his struggles with sobriety.
“For the last year and a half, I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an a****** to the people I love most, my family," he wrote on a Facebook post in 2013, after much speculation about a divorce. "However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober. I’m just trying to be a better person."
"I would like to apologize to Sharon, my family, my friends, and my band mates for my insane behavior during this period ... and my fans. God Bless, Ozzy.”
In 2016, the couple briefly separated after it was revealed that Ozzy had an affair. They reconciliated, with Sharon saying that she "couldn't think of my life without him." They renewed their vows the following year and remained together until Ozzy's death, with Sharon caring for him as he coped with Parkinson's Disease.
The family shared the news of Ozzy's death through a social media statement. Ozzy's death greatly impacted the UK, teh world, and the entertainment community.
