Rosalía runs and screams out of an interview after a flying cockroach ambushes her

"Rosalía, I'm your biggest fan" - the cockroach

Rosalía has done her fair share of interviews, but her recent one in Brazil may be her most unforgettable. The Spanish singer was a guest on the weekly television program, Fantástico, which was recorded in front of the historical Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro. Everything looked picture perfect, until a giant, flying cockroach tried to steal the shot.

In the clip, the 33-year-old singer had a smile on her face until she noticed the flying insect. It was so big it almost looked like a bat. Horrified, she stood up, screamed "beetle" and ran towards the Jesus statue in her high heels. "No, no, no, no, no," she said, laughing. "I'm so scared of beetles," she confessed.

Clips of the moment have made their rounds on social media, along with jokes, mainly about her ex, Rauw Alejandro. One user on X, formerly known as Twitter, quipped in Spanish, "Rauw Alejandro appears by surprise in the middle of a Rosalía interview.” "Not Rauw interrupting," another person joked.

Rosalía referred to an ex as an "emotional terrorist" in the song

Alejandro has received backlash from her fans since the release of her no-hold-back song, "La Perla," which many are convinced is about him and their relationship.

Others saw the hilarious moment as relatable: "She's so real." "Finally, I have something in common with the diva. I would have almost thrown myself too," "I don't judge her, I run like that too when I see a cockroach," others wore.

Rosalia recently had an interview that received backlash

While the moment was hilarious, the singer recently had an interview that took a negative turn. Last month, she appeared on The New York Times’s Popcast, where she discussed her album 'LUX,' in which she sings in thirteen languages.

She reflected on her creative process, saying, “I think I’m the opposite of Benito. I think I care. I care so much that I’m definitely going to make the effort to sing in a language that’s not my language. It’s not my comfort zone."

The remark quickly went viral on TikTok, where users accused her of benefiting from Latino culture and saw her comment as a diss. Things got so messy that she addressed it directly in one of the viral videos, which has since been deleted. "Hey, I understand your point of view, but I think this is being taken out of context. I have nothing but love and respect for Benito," she said. "He’s a great colleague whom I admire and have been lucky enough to collaborate with,” the singer continued.

“I’ve always been grateful to Latin America because, even though I come from another place, Latin people have supported me so much throughout my career… It makes me sad that this is being misunderstood, because that was never my intention."
