Richard Gere and Alejandra Silva are known for keeping their personal life private, but when they step into the spotlight, they make it an unforgettable moment. Weeks after settling more deeply into their new life in Spain, the couple made a striking appearance in Madrid for the premiere of their short documentary 'What Nobody Wants to See.'

The glamorous outing doubled as a celebration of their film, of their shared humanitarian mission, and of a marriage that continues to evolve with warmth and humor.

For their red carpet moment, Gere, 76, looked effortlessly polished in a navy suit and a white shirt, grounding the look with black sneakers. Alejandra, 42, exuded understated European chic in a tailored black tuxedo, satin lapels, a burgundy lip, and diamond pendant earrings.

The pair welcomed photographers with confidence, a contrast to the intensely private way they usually navigate their relationship. Their last public display of affection was a month earlier, when they shared a sweet kiss at the New York screening of Gere’s documentary 'Wisdom of Happiness.'

Rebuilding their life in Spain:

The Madrid premiere also marked a symbolic moment, as they showed that their life in Spain is no longer new, it’s their home. After announcing in 2024 that they were leaving Hollywood to relocate to Alejandra’s native country, the pair officially settled in earlier this year with their sons Alexander, 6, and James, 5.

In a joint interview with Elle España, Gere said, “The truth is that you are seeing us in our momentum. We are happier than ever.” He explained that the location isn’t what makes the difference, his partner is. “She, because she is at home, and I, because if she is happy, I am happy.”

For Alejandra, returning to Spain meant reconnecting with her roots and stepping into the role long filled by the grandmother she adored. Gere recalled the transformation during a November appearance on The Tonight Show.

“I can see her morphing into the new grandmother of this extended family. She’s already planning for, you know, 35 people for Sunday lunches," he said.

If the couple sounds unusually aligned, it’s because they believe their bond goes deeper than chance. Alejandra said to Elle, “We are like soulmates. We have the same values, we see the world in the same way and from the first moment we felt like we have known each other for a long time. And this only happens once, if it happens at all.”

She added, “We were united by the karma of our past lives.” Their spiritual connection has long been part of their story. Back in 2015, Alejandra told Hola! that the chemistry between them was instantaneous, “Our karma was attracted the moment we saw each other.”

Despite the age difference and the complexities of Gere’s fame, she said, “the problems disappear” when the bond is that strong. The two married in April 2018 in a private ceremony before welcoming their older son in February 2019. Their blended family includes Gere’s son Homer, 25, and Alejandra’s son Albert, 12, from previous relationships.
