Fatima Bosch, freshly crowned Miss Universe 2025 and already a magnetic force, has finally shared the story behind the moment that nudged her into the unpredictable, glitter-coated universe of pageantry.
According to the model, it wasn’t a dramatic epiphany, a perfectly lit selfie, or a producer's scouting DM. It was Osmel Sousa. The legendary mentor, beauty-kingmaker, and the man who practically redesigned the modern pageant blueprint.

Revealing that at around the age of five, when asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, she responded in a way that now feels prophetic. “I didn’t even remember that video, but it makes me laugh because they ask: ‘Fátima, what do you want to be when you grow up?’ And I say I want to help all people, while waving goodbye, almost like a beauty queen wave. Back then, it didn’t mean much to me when I saw the video, but now it makes sense," she shared.
"I’ve always enjoyed helping others. Since I was 14, I’ve been involved in philanthropy, charity, and community work. Looking at that video now, I realize that I kind of had that desire within me unconsciously as a child. It really touches me that people bring out those videos because I’ve always tried to present myself authentically, just as I am, without masks. I value the people who take the time to see that and get to know me," the beauty queen added.
Bosch has been crowned Miss Universe 2025 after competing against 121 contestants during the final night of the 74th annual Miss Universe competition held in Thailand. Her triumph was the result of an eventful, emotional pageant as Miss Universe.

Her win came days after an uncomfortable situation involving Nawat Itsaragrisil, the director of the Miss Universe organization in Thailand, who asked security to remove her from an event. The tense episode occurred during a pre-event meeting at the sash ceremony. During the gathering, Nawat publicly accused the Mexican contestant of disobedience.
Emotionally shaken but determined, Fátima added that the director’s comments were inappropriate: “He called me stupid because he has issues with the organization. I think it’s unfair. I’m here doing everything right, I don’t bother anyone, I just try to be kind.”

Then, the Miss Universe Organization released an official statement: “Together, we are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of respect, safety, and integrity for all participants, staff, and stakeholders,” officials shared on the contest’s social media accounts.
