Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau's romance is still going strong. According to new sources, the pair are ready to spend some time together over the holidays, taking a new and bigger step in their relationship.
A source opened up about the romance, sharing that the experience has been a "whirlwind" for Perry. They claim the two are "making plans for the holidays," according to PEOPLE, and that Perry is looking forward to wrapping up her tour and having some time for herself after the past months of traveling and hard work.
"Without exaggeration, this year has been a whirlwind for her," continued the source. "She hasn't even had time to really think about her life after the tour."
The source continued to say that Perry's priority is her daughter, Daisy. "She's a single mom now and a lot of that is going to come into focus next year," they said.
Still, despite the notoriety that comes with Perry's new relationship, the source claims her relationship with Trudeau has been developing in the backdrop, as she's been too busy with her career, with them seeing each other "when they can."
"Justin keeps making a big effort to see her and she's excited about it," said the source. They claim Perry "has a lot of fun with him."
Perry and Trudeau have both experienced 'whirlwind' years
While this year Katy Perry experienced plenty of changes, including a musical comeback and the end of one of her longest relationships, Trudeau is also coming out of two years of change, personal and professional.
In 2023, he announced his separation from Sophie Gregoire, concluding a marriage of 18 years. The couple shares three kids: Xavier, Ella, and Hadrien.
The pair announced their split in a now-deleted Instagram post. "Hi everyone, Sophie and I would like to share the fact that after many meaningful and difficult conversations, we have made the decision to separate," read Trudeau's post. "As always, we remain a close family with deep love and respect for each other and for everything we have built and will continue to build."
In January of this year, he announced his resignation from Canada's Liberal Party, marking the end of his tenure as Canada's Prime Minister. Sources share that Trudeau is in a better place now. “Justin has had a lot of upheavals in the past couple of years, both in his professional-political status and at home with the split from Sophie,” said a source to PEOPLE.
“He is a much happier person now," they continued. "Stresses are greatly diminished. And he is intrigued with Katy. They have fun together, laugh a lot, talk about everything.”
