Lindsay Lohan’s younger brother, Dakota Lohan, opened up this week, posting a raw and cryptic message about his “bad habits.” The 29-year-old got real on Instagram, talking about growth, accountability, and trying to unlearn old patterns. "Day by day I’m understanding as well as accepting myself more so for the good, bad, and indifferent," he wrote.
"I would tend to not take accountability for my behaviors and make excuses to justify my own ignorance and bad habits, that ship has sailed. Baby steps are a beautiful thing, no need to rush the beauty of the journey. Baby rant complete," he continued.
Along with the caption, Dakota shared a gallery of rare moments with his family.
It started with a sweet selfie with Lindsay, then another with his brother Mike Jr. and his wife Nina.
He also shared a photo playing pool with his sister, Aliana.
There was also a rainy day selfie, with the final slide being an old family photo. Their dad, Michael Lohan, was not included in the mix.
The comments section quickly filled with support. Lindsay, who’s been living her best, grown-up life in Dubai with Bader and their two-year-old son, dropped a red heart emoji and a hand up emoji.
Their mom, Dina, was also there writing, "Love you hunny ….. I am so proud of the man you are xo mom." His sister Aliana showed love with a yellow heart emoji.
Dakota has dipped in and out of acting, mostly in projects tied to Lindsay. He appeared in Irish Wish, Falling for Christmas, and even had an uncredited baby cameo in The Parent Trap.
Who are the rest of the siblings?
Michael Jr. is a year younger than Lindsay and appeared in The Parent Trap, but it was his only movie. He was occasionally spotted hanging out with Lilo in the club around 2014, but he got out of the limelight and settled down. He is now a father and married to Nina Ginsberg.
The youngest sister, Aliana, used to walk the red carpets with Lindsay and is a singer and model. Last week, she released a new single titled "Eternity."
They also have a half-sister named Ashley Horn, who was born to her dad, Michael, and Kristi Kauffman, when he was reportedly still married to Dina, per Hollywood Life.
Ashley made headlines in 2013 when she claimed she had five surgeries, amounting to $25,000, to look like her sister. According to Daily Mail, she told InTouch that she looked “hotter” than her. However, she later went on The Trisha Goddard Show on NBC and tearfully apologized.
Their controversial father later married Kate Major in 2014, and they welcomed their half-brothers, Landon, born in 2013, and Logan, born in 2014.
