It's no secret that horseback riding can be very dangerous, but it's a risk equastrains take, especially when they have big dreams. For Mark Wahlberg's daughter, Grace, she's not letting an injury stop her from riding again. Earlier this week, the 15-year-old was hospitalized for what seemed like a broken collarbone.
The teenager shared a gallery of photos on Monday with the first photo of her sitting in a hospital bed with her arm in a black sling. Grace looked disappointed in the pic, likely knowing she wouldn't get to compete again until she recovers. She also included a mix of her competing with the caption, "No pressure, we will be back."
She didn't reveal the injury, but she did respond with heart emojis to a comment on her Instagram that said, "Collar bone!? That’s the right of passage for riders." "Welcome to the club! Get well soon, kiddo!!" it continued.
Reps for Mark told Page Six that Grace is “doing well and recuperating, she will be back to riding soon.” According to Hopkins Medicine, depending on how severe it is, most clavicle fractures will heal completely within four months
In what seems to have since been deleted, she took to TikTok to share her disappointment. According to Page Six, she had a caption that read, "Devil couldn’t reach me, so he waited until I was getting so good and about to reach my goals. And then he hurt me,” along with photos from the hospital and her riding. “Quite honestly, depressing not being able to ride,” she wrote in another video.
Mark has gushed about his talented daughter in the past. "My daughter—believe it or not—is more disciplined than me," Mark told E! in 2023. He also revealed her dreams to one day make it to the Olympics. "I didn't adopt that kind of discipline until I was in my 30s, and I had to do it because of work. And now she does it on her own because she wants to be an Olympian," he explained.
The sports lover went on to share what it's like watching her compete. "I always thought the Patriots going to the Super Bowl was the most nerve-racking experience I've ever had," he said, "It's nothing like watching my daughter on a horse."
In videos Grace has shared to social media, it's clear she's a talented rider who loves what she does.
The Father Stu star and his wife, Rhea Durham, also share Ella, 20, Michael, 17, and Brendan, 15.
