Belonging to one of the most powerful acting dynasties in Hollywood, it seemed inevitable she’d end up in the same industry. Carys Zeta Douglas is the youngest daughter of Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, with whom she’s very close. The 22-year-old, who just graduated from Brown University with a degree in Film and International Relations, has also had some early experience in the film world working as an assistant director on several projects.
In recent years, we’ve seen her join her parents at events like movie premieres and the Cannes Film Festival, where she’s worn some truly standout looks—proof that style can be inherited. She shares her mother’s passion for fashion, and they often attend runway shows together. “My mom is an icon to me,” Carys has admitted.
She made that clear again this Tuesday at the ICONS of Culture Gala 2025 in New York, where she arrived on her father’s arm. She wore a delicate slip-style dress with lace details, which she borrowed straight from Catherine Zeta-Jones’s wardrobe. It’s actually a dress the actress wore two decades ago. Back in 2005, the Wednesday star showed up at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony in Ohio wearing this very same piece.
It’s a boudoir-inspired midi dress with thin straps and a slightly corseted, shimmering bodice. Catherine Zeta-Jones completed the look back then with heeled sandals featuring jeweled ankle straps and a black baguette bag.
Her daughter, however, opted for classic pointed heels instead. She wore her hair naturally, just like her mother did back then—slightly voluminous at the roots with soft waves. It’s a beauty look that makes the resemblance between mother and daughter undeniable.
It’s not the first time Carys has found inspiration for her outfits in her mother’s fashion past. For her 21st birthday, she decided to pay tribute to Catherine Zeta-Jones by bringing back another slip dress—a pink satin design with floral embroidery by Emanuel Ungaro, which her mother wore on the red carpet at the 1999 MTV Movie Awards.
