Filled with excitement and determined to return home with the Miss Universe 2025 crown, Lina Luaces, Cuba’s representative, departed Miami on Tuesday night bound for Thailand. The atmosphere at Miami International Airport’s north terminal was electric, filled with cheers and well-wishes for the confident and joyful contestant embarking on this grand adventure.
Lina arrived at the airport wearing a white mini-dress that showed off her long legs and highlighted her waist with a charming touch representing her homeland: Cuba’s national flower. The 23-year-old’s look also featured a white cape with structured shoulders, giving her outfit perfect symmetry and flow as she walked.
© Getty ImagesShe completed the look with platform heels and a chic French-style beret perched over her dark hair — which she teased would gradually lighten — styled in perfect waves. Of course, her Miss Universe Cuba sash was the finishing touch.
Amid all the excitement, Lina took time to greet the press, pose for photos with fans, and thank everyone wishing her well ahead of the pageant, which will take place on November 21 (November 20 in the Americas due to the time difference) at the Impact Arena in Pak Kret.
Marianela Ancheta, Miss Universe Cuba 2024, was also there to see her off, giving her a heartfelt hug and best wishes for the competition.

Naturally, on such an important day, her mother, Lili Estefan, was by her side, not only to cheer her on as she embarked on this dream-filled journey but also to travel with her and share in the experience firsthand.
The "El Gordo y la Flaca" host expressed special gratitude to the flight crew accompanying them: “The entire crew that will be taking care of us on the plane!!!!! Details that go straight to the heart — THANK YOU for this moment 🥰🇨🇺,” she wrote alongside a photo.
Proud and touched by the affection shown toward her daughter, Lili added: “Thank you for all the love! Thank you to each of you who came to say goodbye! Here we are, already on the plane on our way to #Thailand #Tailandia. My daughter, may God be with you in every step you take and every emotion you feel! CONGRATULATIONS @linaluaces 🇨🇺 We are so proud of you 🙏🫶.”
