Jennifer Lopez, Sabrina Carpenter, and the Kardashian-Jenner sisters aren’t the only ones riding TikTok’s newest wave. The latest personality to join the “Beez In The Trap” × “What’s Up” challenge is none other than Kai Trump, the granddaughter of former President Donald Trump.
The 18-year-old high school senior recently appeared in a playful clip alongside her best friend, Emma Markin, and the moment quickly caught the attention of Nicki Minaj herself.
The pair’s video shows Kai and Emma syncing perfectly to the mashup of Nicki Minaj’s 2012 hit “Beez In The Trap” with Linda Perry’s 1993 anthem “What’s Up.” Emma appears in a secret service–inspired costume, possibly for Halloween, while Kai keeps her look simple and camera-ready.
The two friends are known for hopping on viral trends. Within hours of posting, Minaj reshared Kai’s video on X (formerly Twitter). Fans flooded the comments with surprise.
This isn’t the first time Kai has found herself in the spotlight. Just last month, she launched her own fashion label, unveiled a “KT” logo sweatshirt at the Ryder Cup, and stood alongside her grandfather at the event in New York.
A senior at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Kai plans to join the University of Miami golf team next fall. “This collection is something I’ve dreamed about for a long time, and I’m so grateful it’s finally here,” she wrote.
Earlier in September, Kai also gave followers a look into her “senior year prep” through a YouTube vlog. In it, she participated in a popular high school tradition, returning to class with a child’s backpack. The post drew attention not only for its humor but also for offering fans a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse of her day-to-day life.
Jennifer Lopez recently joined the craze, teaming up with Linda Perry herself for a playful duet that’s now one of the most-viewed videos tied to the trend. “The remix is ridiculous in all the best ways,” Perry told Rolling Stone. “It’s what convinced me to finally download TikTok.”
Meanwhile, the mashup has continued to attract stars from every corner of the internet. Sabrina Carpenter, Demi Lovato, and even Malala Yousafzai have added their takes, while Gordon Ramsay surprised fans by showing off his rap skills alongside his wife Tana and daughter Tilly.
Rebel Wilson, Khloé Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner have each jumped in with their own interpretations, keeping the viral moment alive across platforms.
