Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau’s romance is officially official!
The pop superstar, 41, and the former Canadian prime minister, 53, made their first official public appearance as a couple on Saturday, Oct. 25. According to TMZ, the pair stepped out in Paris to celebrate Perry’s birthday with a date night at the famed Crazy Horse cabaret.
Photos captured the couple smiling and holding hands as they exited the venue. Perry stunned in a bright red dress, while Trudeau kept things sleek in an all-black outfit for the night out.
Rumors of their romance first began over the summer when the two were spotted dining together in Montreal, Canada. At the time, Perry had recently split from her ex-fiancé, Orlando Bloom, in June, while Trudeau had announced his separation from wife Sophie Grégoire in 2023 after 18 years of marriage.
Though they kept a low profile for several months, Perry and Trudeau were later seen in September sharing a kiss and embracing aboard a yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara.
A source told PEOPLE that Trudeau had “been pursuing” the Grammy-nominated singer since their first meeting in Montreal. “He even flew to California to see her during a tour break,” the insider revealed. “They have an easy connection. She finds him attractive. He's been very respectful.”
Perry is currently globe-trotting on her Lifetimes Tour in support of her latest album, 143. The tour began in Mexico City in April and has since traveled through the U.S., Canada, and Australia, with more international stops on the horizon.
Trudeau was even spotted in the audience at Perry’s sold-out Montreal concert earlier this year at the Bell Centre.
To mark her birthday on Oct. 25, the singer shared a playful Instagram Stories post featuring a fan-made joke about how her mom, Mary Perry, had “released Katy Perry” the same way the star might drop a new album.
Earlier that week, Perry embraced her zodiac season, posting, “We have officially entered Scorpio szn ♏️🦂.”
