When you think of showstopping moments at a Jennifer Lopez concert, you probably imagine high-octane dance routines, powerhouse vocals, and jaw-dropping costumes. What you don’t usually expect is a cricket crawling up her body mid-performance, but that’s exactly what happened last August in Kazakhstan, and now, months later, J.Lo has finally spoken about it.

The 56-year-old superstar, who just reunited with ex-husband Ben Affleck at the premiere of their new film "Kiss Of The Spider Woman," relived the moment in hilarious detail during an appearance on "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon." Fallon couldn’t resist playing the viral clip for his audience, and Lopez delivered the behind-the-scenes play-by-play that fans have been waiting for.

The Shocking Onstage Encounter

It was a packed night at Almaty’s Central Stadium in August when Lopez, in her usual commanding fashion, was nearing the end of a song. Suddenly, a large cricket landed on her chest. In the video that quickly spread across social media, the insect can be seen crawling upward, eventually making its way to her neck.

Lopez didn’t scream, flinch, or break character. Instead, she calmly finished the song before flicking the bug off her body in one swift motion.

J.Lo’s Side of the Story

On Fallon’s couch, Lopez admitted the whole thing was much more unnerving than her cool exterior let on.

“The thing is, I felt something, right? I thought it was just a bug flying around. You can see them in the lights when you’re outside performing,” she explained. “But this one wasn’t flying. It was crawling.”

Lopez revealed that she felt the insect creeping up her body in real time. “If you see the full clip, it’s crawling the whole way. And then finally, it got to my neck. I was at the end of the song, and I just thought, whatever it is, just finish. Just finish the song.”

As she imitated the crawling sensation with her fingers, Lopez made the audience laugh: “It was just like little legs. I didn’t know what it was until I finally flicked it off.”

Fallon’s Applause and Lopez’s Helicopter Comparison

Jimmy Fallon couldn’t help but praise her poise under pressure. “You nailed it. You stuck the landing,” he told her, likening her composure to an Olympic-level performance.

Lopez, though, was quick to add some humor. She described the cricket as being so massive it felt like a flying machine: “I saw it in the light, and it looked like a helicopter. The size of a helicopter!”

The clip of the moment has racked up millions of views across platforms. The caption joked, "Plot twist: @JLo just started rehearsals for Kiss of the Cricket Woman… on stage… in real time." The playful jab referenced Lopez's latest film project, "Kiss of the Spider Woman."
