Nina Dobrev is clearing the record. The actress, who was recently photographed on vacation with Zac Efron and some friends, is opening up about her love life, including those rumors that have pinned her and Efron together after the end of her long-term engagement to Shaun White.
© Robin MarchantDobrev was spotted by paparazzi at LAX earlier this week, where a photographer asked her about her recent breakup and the difficulties of carrying all that out in the public eye.
"You know what? I'm excited for the future, and the only thing that's guaranteed is change," she said, per TMZ.
The photographer then asked Dobrev about her relationship with Efron. "I saw photos of you," he said. Dobrev smiled and shook her head. "You're just mates?" he asked.
"Yeah," she said.
Dobrev and Efron were recently photographed enjoying a vacation in Italy with a group of celebrity friends, including Miles Teller, his wife Keleigh Teller, and Chace Crawford. Efron and Dobrev were spotted in their bathing suits, enjoying themselves by the water and riding jet skis together.
They were also photographed sitting near each other at a dinner, with the group dressed in formal attire.

In September of this year, it was announced that Dobrev and White had concluded their engagement after five years together.
"It was a mutual decision, and wasn’t an easy one, but it was made with love and a deep respect for one another," said a source to PEOPLE.
Shortly after the breakup, a source claimed that the couple had a disagreement when it came to their future, prompting their rupture. "She is devastated," said another source to PEOPLE. "There was one reason: She wanted a family and wanted to get married — and he didn't." Other sources disagreed, claiming that they both wanted to have children.
© Ivan ApfelWhite and Dobrev first met in 2019, after attending a workshop where they were speakers, organized by Tony Robbins. They began dating shortly after, with White revealing that he didn't know she was famous and was surprised when guests wanted to take photos with her after the event.
In the years after, the pair showed up for each other in their careers, with Dobrev supporting him throughout the winter Olympics and White attending various events and premieres alongside her. The pair got engaged in October of last year, with White surprising Dobrev while out having dinner.
