George Clooney lives a clean life these days, but back in the 80s, he did some experimenting with drugs. The 64-year-old actor tried a few things, but one night with friends made him realize that weed is not for him.

George has had one of the most successful careers in Hollywood, with a turning point in his career being ER, which came out in 1994. Talking to Esquire, he admitted that in 1982, he tried "blow and stuff."

Thankfully, it never became a problem. "I used to make jokes about how I did too many drugs, but the truth is, it was never a big issue for me at all."

"There was an episode of Taxi where they’re all doing blow. At the time, it was like, No, this is not like heroin. It’s not addictive. But then it was like, Oh, well, it’s actually pretty f***ing bad," he added. The Jay Kelly star also shared another hilarious detail, "It was all cut with mannitol. The baby laxative. Everybody would do a line and then take a s**t.”

Anyone who's tried edibles knows things can go from zero to nonverbal quickly. After one night with friends, he learned weed isn't for him. He and some friends took on the pop culture legend where you listen to Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon while watching the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, supposedly revealing eerie coincidences between the music and the visuals.

George explained, "We were f***ed." "I literal—I think all of us—there was like twenty of us in the screening room, and the movie ended, and we sat there without speaking for, like, hours. Hours! Like the sun was coming up and we’re—it’s just not my drug.”

Now, the father of two is staying in shape and keeping up wth his health. He gets full body scans and workups and keeps up with his fitness routines. The Academy Award winner shares twins Alexander and Ella with his wife, Amal Clooney.

Not the only star that got too stoned

Matthew McConaughey has opened up about his past weed addiction

He's not the only star who has lost to THC. Matthew McConaughey, famously, got arrested back in 1999 while playing bongos, under the influence of marijuana. He recently opened up about his addiction to the plant and the night that made him stop.

One night ahead of his birthday party, he said he listened to Janet Jackson's “That’s the Way Love Goes” 32 times in a row, and couldn't quit listening to it.  “I was sitting there crying over that song. I thought it was more important than celebrating my birth," he told USA Today.

Once he had listened to it enough times, he went in only to find everybody had left the party they had thrown for him. "It was over. I missed it!" The Failure to Launch star explained.
