Selena Gomez is officially stepping into her next chapter with Benny Blanco, as their wedding celebrations kick off tonight in California. The couple is hosting an intimate two-day event, beginning with a rehearsal dinner this evening and the ceremony set for tomorrow.
Security is tight, and secrecy has been a priority from the start. “Guests still do not know exact locations for the rehearsal or the wedding,” a source told Us Weekly, noting that shuttle buses will transport attendees from their hotels to the mystery venues.
The festivities are taking place in Montecito, and despite the silent planning, the guest list is anything but low-profile. Taylor Swift and Paris Hilton are among those confirmed to attend.
Joining them are Gomez’s 'Only Murders in the Building' castmates Martin Short and Ashley Park. Event planner Mindy Weiss, known for her over-the-top celebrity events, is spearheading the weekend.
Weiss, who previously organized Travis Barker’s proposal to Kourtney Kardashian and events for Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber, is behind the scenes making sure this one’s just as unforgettable. “It will be a huge, A-list, star-studded wedding,” said an insider.
While the venue is under wraps, one detail has surfaced. Swift won’t be staying at a hotel. A source confirmed to Page Six that she’s opted for a private rental nearby for security reasons. “She will be renting a house near the wedding venue, which is a secret to the public,” the insider shared. “Her security team feels it’s better than a hotel.”
One notable absence might be Travis Kelce, Swift’s fiancé. His team, the Kansas City Chiefs, are playing Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens, making it unlikely he’ll make it in time for the California celebration.
Gomez’s bridesmaids, according to Entertainment Tonight, will include her “core group of longtime girlfriends who’ve stood by her for years.” Many of them, including Raquelle Stevens, Ashley Cook, and cousin Priscilla Marie, were part of her summer bachelorette trip in Cabo San Lucas.
That trip also featured Courtney Lopez, another possible bridesmaid. The couple has kept things low-key despite the magnitude of the event. “Benny and Selena want their wedding to feel relaxed and meaningful… they’re not hiding their love or happiness,” a source close to the couple revealed. “The wedding will be a true reflection of that.”
Their engagement took place in December 2024 after a year and a half of dating. “Forever begins now,” Gomez captioned the Instagram post showcasing her ring. Blanco chimed in with, “Hey wait… that’s my wife.”
Even in interviews, the pair has played coy about the proposal details. Blanco admitted it was a surprise. “It was the sickest surprise that she had no idea about, and it couldn’t have come at a better time," he told Interview. “At the end, she was starting to get upset because she was like, ‘Why aren’t you coming home tonight?’ And I was like, ‘Oh, I’m just at my friends’ [house].’”
“The second we started hanging out, I was like, ‘This is my wife.’ I was telling my mom, ‘This is the girl I’m going to marry," he said. While the exact guest list is still under wraps, TMZ reports that over 170 attendees are expected. There’s speculation that Blanco’s music collaborators will also make an appearance, though Meryl Streep reportedly won’t be among them.
As for how it all began, the couple had already worked on several songs before their romance took shape, from 2015’s 'Kill Em With Kindness' to their joint 2025 album, 'I Said I Love You First.'
Blanco, for his part, recently celebrated their upcoming nuptials by staying in the $25,000-a-night Chairman Villa at Resorts World Las Vegas while Gomez was in Cabo for her bachelorette weekend.
