Justin Bieber hits the court while Selena Gomez celebrates her wedding weekend

Justin Bieber is proving once again that basketball is his favorite off-stage hobby. The pop star was spotted this past weekend at The League in Los Angeles, showing off his skills on the court in a relaxed yet striking outfit. Dressed in a crisp white tank top, matching oversized shorts, and colorful sneakers that popped against the wooden floor, Bieber looked every bit the athlete as he dribbled, passed, and even took some sharp jump shots.

What makes the timing especially buzzworthy is that the sighting comes right as his ex, Selena Gomez, was reportedly celebrating her wedding weekend. While fans around the globe were tuning in to the news of Selena’s big day, Bieber appeared completely unfazed, finding his own rhythm in the game he’s loved for years.

Courtside Energy

At The League, a well-known Los Angeles hotspot for celebrity pickup games, Bieber blended into the action but still carried his signature energy. His tattoos peeked out from under the jersey, and his bright pastel sneakers added a stylish splash to the monochrome look.

Eyewitnesses say he seemed focused, serious about his game, and fully locked in on the court.

For longtime fans, Bieber’s love of basketball isn’t new. He’s been seen courtside at NBA games, taken part in numerous celebrity basketball events, and often uses the sport as a way to wind down in between tours and recording sessions.

Contrast With Selena’s Big Weekend

Of course, the internet couldn’t help but notice the coincidental timing: while Selena Gomez stepped into a new chapter of her life with her wedding, Bieber was stepping onto the hardwood. For some fans, it highlighted the clear divergence of their personal journeys. Instead of avoiding the spotlight, Bieber seemed comfortable letting the cameras capture him doing what he enjoys most.

Gomez, 33, and music producer Benny Blanco, 37, are preparing to say “I do” in what’s shaping up to be one of the most star-studded and tightly-guarded weddings of the year. The pair, who got engaged in December 2024, will have a ceremony on a sprawling private estate, completely transformed into a tented wonderland.
