Wendy Williams has been making headlines for her conservatorship, concerning fans everywhere. But last night she was back in the spotlight, proving that she is still a star, with a shocking appearance at New York Fashion Week.
The beloved and at times controversial talk show queen popped up at LaQuan Smith’s NYFW show, dressed to impress, like she never left. There were many stars like Busta Rhymes, fresh from his VMA performance, and Latto, but Williams stole the show, as she happily posed and talked to reporters. At LaQuan Smith, she went full glam in the designer’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection.
Williams was enjoying the love and her freedom. When she caught up with TMZ, she told the outlet, “I feel like a zillion dollars!”
There was even a heartfelt reunion with Lil’ Kim. The two, who famously had beef back in the day, were spotted hugging and exchanging love. Lil’ Kim even told her, “I love you, Wendy.” "Oh my god, that was wonderful," Williams said as she walked away with her security guard.
The 61-year-old didn’t stop at the show; she kept the momentum going at Dennis Basso’s preview, arriving with Max Tucci, her niece Alex Finnie, and Finnie’s fiancé Eric Houston, per The Cut.
What's next for Williams?
Unfortunately, Williams' night out was only temporary, and her next big stage isn't a runway. Behind the glam, she’s still in the middle of a legal storm. A judge recently ordered her to sit for a deposition in the lawsuit her guardian filed against A&E over her Lifetime documentary.
The court ruled that her dementia diagnosis doesn’t automatically disqualify her from testifying; instead, it’ll be up to a jury to decide how much weight her words carry. The deposition will happen remotely by November 4, capped at three hours per day, with breaks to accommodate her health.
And yes, she's still under her conservatorship. Last month, it was revealed that it was upheld with an attorney for Williams' guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, requesting an extension until November 3, per PEOPLE.
After completing an evaluation with a "significant number of tests," including neuropsychological, medical, and brain imaging, doctors reportedly determined an "opinion" about her condition and diagnosis, according to legal documents.
The outlet notes that the condition was not listed, but a source told them the diagnosis was frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and aphasia, a diagnosis first made public in 2023. The 61-year-old has been under legal guardianship since May 2022.
The reports seemed to contradict earlier reports from March 2025, when she was removed from her assisted living facility and taken to a hospital by the NYPD.
TMZ reported that at the time she was alert and oriented according to the test and passed the mental capacity test with flying colors - a perfect 10/10. This test came just after the former talk show host formally asked a judge to end the guardianship.
NYPD and APS then launched investigations into whether she was being unfairly confined at her assisted living facility. She’s reportedly stuck in a memory care unit, unable to leave without permission, so some kind of clearance must have happened for her to be allowed at the show.
We will have to wait and see what's next for Williams, but for now, it's good to see she enjoyed her night out.
