When it comes to the world of Netflix’s "Wednesday," it seems the drama doesn’t just stay on screen. Actor Hunter Doohan, who plays Tyler Galpin on the hit series, is speaking out against the swirling rumors that his absence from the show’s season two premiere in London was due to tension with costar Jenna Ortega, or even restrictions from his husband, Fielder Jewett.

Doohan addressed the speculation during a preview of the September 9 episode of the "I’ve Never Said This Before" podcast, obtained by Us Weekly. The 31-year-old wasted no time shutting down the gossip: “I saw one rumor Jenna didn’t allow me to go, which is so not true,” he explained. “There was a rumor that my husband didn’t let me go because he was jealous of Jenna and I. I was like, ‘You guys, can we please be so f--king for real right now?’”

That wasn’t all, Doohan made it crystal clear that his marriage is not under strain and his relationship with Ortega is nothing but professional and friendly. “My husband, for the record, did not tell me not to go to the Wednesday premiere because he’s jealous of Jenna and I. Grow up.”

Frustration With the Rumor Mill

The actor admitted that this kind of speculation takes a toll. The false narratives, often spread through TikTok videos and online fan theories, have left him torn between wanting to share his personal life and wanting to retreat from the public eye altogether.

“Sometimes it makes me want to protect myself more and not share anything from my personal life, and sometimes I want to comment on [it],” Doohan said. “Surely people aren’t believing this s--t?”

Fans vs. The Noise

Despite the negativity that online rumor culture can spark, Doohan emphasized that his experiences with "Wednesday" fans in real life have been overwhelmingly positive. “The 'Wednesday' fans, every interaction I’ve had with them in real life has been so great. And online [everything] is mostly positive,” he explained.

For him, the problem doesn’t lie with the genuine fandom, but with misleading viral content that mixes speculation with fiction about his life and relationships, often dragging Ortega and fellow cast member Emma Myers into the conversation.

Life Beyond the Screen

Doohan, who tied the knot with Jewett in 2022, continues to focus on his career and personal life without letting baseless rumors define his story. While his role as Tyler earned him global recognition, the actor is determined to keep his real-life relationships grounded and free from the chaos of fan-made narratives.
