Ricky Martin knows how to get the internet talking, and he just did it again. Ahead of the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, September 7, the global superstar shared a carousel of steamy behind-the-scenes photos that left fans salivating.

In the series of shots, Ricky is seen lounging shirtless, showing off his tattoos and toned physique while casually sewing his pants. It wasn’t just the thirst trap factor that caught attention, though. The singer captioned the post with a mix of humor, glam, and a little tease of what’s to come.

The singer and actor made history and stole the show at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, becoming the first-ever recipient of the Latin Icon Award, a new category honoring Latino artists who’ve had a global impact on music and culture.

The 53-year-old Puerto Rican superstar received a standing ovation as he took the stage, delivering a heartfelt speech dedicated to his beloved children, Matteo, Valentino, Lucia, and Renn.

“I want to dedicate this award to my kids,” Martin said. "Matteo, Valentino, Lucia and Renn, everything I do, I do it with you in my mind and in my heart." Dressed in an all-black look during his performance, the singer made fans excited with some of his hit songs, including 'Livin’ la vida loca,' 'Maria' and 'Vente Pa' Ca.'

“It’s been 40 years. Forty years!” he said. “I started working when I was just a baby… and we’re still here.” He continued with a message of unity and passion. “We just want to unite countries. We want to break boundaries. And most of all, we want to keep music alive.”

He also gave a shoutout to his collaborators: “To the incredible people I work with. It’s been many years working together. Let’s keep making music," Martin continued. "I love you.” The actor walked the red carpet, posing in a silky, light green shirt, stylishly unbuttoned to reveal his toned chest and signature tattoos.
