Paris Jackson is not involved in the making of "Michael," the awaited biopic exploring the life of Michael Jackson. In a string of Instagram stories, Jackson shared her thoughts on her involvement in the biopic, making it clear that she had no input in the film that is currently in development.

Jackson's statements were made after Colman Domingo gave some statements to PEOPLE. Domingo, who's starring in the film as Michael's father and manager, told the publication that Jackson had offered her advice on playing the character and was supportive of the project.

Jackson shared her thoughts on her Instagram stories, tagging Doming directly. "Don’t be telling people I was ‘helpful’ on the set of a movie I had 0% involvement in lol," she wrote in an Instagram story showing a selfie of her face as she got her hair dyed.

"That is so weird. I read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest, didn’t sit right with me, and when they didn’t address it, I moved on with my life. Not my monkeys, not my circus. God bless and godspeed.”

Jackson's notes on the script were not addressed

In her following Instagram stories, Jackson shared a video of herself singing while getting interrupted by her adorable pets. About an hour after, she shared more of her thoughts regarding the "Michael" biopic, probably due to the comments she'd been seeing online.

“I wasn’t involved at all, aside from giving feedback on the first draft and then getting the feedback that production was not actually going to address your notes at all," she said.

"A big reason why I haven’t said anything up until this point is because I know a lot of you guys are gonna be happy with it. A big section of the film panders to a very specific section of my dad’s fandom that still lives in the fantasy, and they’re gonna be happy with it," she concluded.

"Michael" is being directed by Anthony Fuqua and stars Jafaar Jackson, Michael's real-life nephew, in the lead role. The movie co-stars Domingo, Miles Teller, Nia Long, Laura Harrier, and more. The movie is scheduled to come out in April 2026.
