Cardi B should’ve played softball, because that arm is no joke. The 32-year-old rapper has been making headlines all week while in court over an alleged 2018 altercation, and Tuesday’s lunch break was no different. As she headed to her car, things got heated with a blogger.

After complimenting Cardi, a man with an iPhone shouted out a bold question, "Cardi, insiders are claiming Offset is publicly bragging about getting you pregnant for the fourth time. Do you foresee any paternity issues with Steffon Diggs?"

Livid, Cardi grabbed a pen from someone and threw it at him. "That’s for disrespecting me. Don’t disrespect me," Cardi told him in a video obtained by Daily Mail.

As her bodyguard took her towards the waiting vehicle, she continued, "Don’t do that. Do you see women asking those types of questions to me? Do you see women asking those questions to me?" "Why do you feel, as a man, you get to ask me those types of questions? Act like you have some manners and your mama taught you - respect women."

It's not the first time Cardi has thrown something on camera

Of course, it's not the first time Cardi has been snapped throwing something; she infamously threw a microphone into the crowd at a woman who threw water at her in 2023 at Drai's Beach Club in Las Vegas. It was revealed in July that a woman identified only as Jane Doe is suing Cardi, claiming she was struck by the microphone

While the pen isn't as heavy as a microphone, she can technically find herself in another lawsuit. Attorney Savannah Skelton at Skelton & Associates tells HOLA!, "Cardi B throwing the pen at the reporter could open her up to new potential liability for an independent lawsuit brought by the paparazzi for potential battery, assault, or emotional distress damages related to the incident, however, the reporter would need to be able to prove all elements essential to those causes of action. In this case, damages caused by the marker missile would be difficult, if not impossible, to prove. Thus, she is probably okay, but lawsuits these days have unfortunately been brought for less."

After the throw, a jury found the "Bodak Yellow" singer not guilty of assault in a $24 million lawsuit tied to a 2018 incident at an OB-GYN’s office. The case stemmed from claims by security guard Emani Ellis, who accused Cardi of spitting on her, striking her, and even cutting her face with one of her nails.

But the jury, made up of six men and six women, wasn’t convinced. According to Rolling Stone, they only needed about an hour of deliberation before unanimously siding with Cardi. In closing arguments, Cardi’s lawyer, Peter Anderson, flipped the narrative, arguing it was Ellis who lost control during the encounter. “Plaintiff advanced on Cardi, screaming and yelling, forcing Cardi backwards,” Anderson said.

Happy with the unanimous decision, Cardi maintained her innocence, telling reporters, "Even if I'm at my deathbed, I swear to God, I will say it at my deathbed — I did not touch that woman."
