Jennifer Lopez is stepping into a new chapter, and so is her child, Emme Muñiz. Just one year after finalizing her divorce from Ben Affleck, the superstar took a break from her dazzling summer and chart-topping tour to celebrate a quiet, emotional milestone, the first day of Emme’s senior year.
In a heartfelt Instagram Story, JLo shared a touching throwback photo, snuggled cheek-to-cheek with a younger Emme, with their eyes closed during a car ride.
“I just dropped off this little coconut to their first day of senior year," the singer wrote. Looking back at this photo from a few years ago, it just reminds me that they’ll always be my beautiful baby!”
It’s an important moment for the 56-year-old star, who’s watching her teen grow up. JLo included breakfast spread captioned in chocolate syrup with the words “Senior Year!” complete with edible flowers, fruit-topped whipped cream, and a platter of crispy bacon and French toast.
This back-to-school sendoff comes amid a backdrop of personal transformation. Just over a year ago, Lopez filed for divorce from her husband, Ben Affleck. The split, finalized this past February, closed the curtain on a whirlwind reunion that had captivated fans since the couple rekindled in 2021.
JLo recently wrapped her 20-date 'Up All Night: Live in 2025' Tour on August 12, which reconnected her with fans across the globe. From Istanbul to Sardinia, she dazzled on stage before returning home.
After her final tour stop in Italy, J.Lo returned to the Hamptons for a glamorous escape with family. The pop icon and Emme were seen smiling in the back of a convertible alongside vocal coach Stevie Mackey.
The two looked happy in new photos. Lopez looked effortlessly elegant in a white button-up, while Emme rocked a laid-back look with a plaid shirt, olive shorts, and a bold new hairstyle featuring golden highlights.
While this was the first time Emme’s new hairstyle made it to JLo’s social feed, paparazzi had already caught glimpses of the transformation in July during a casual Beverly Hills outing. The teen, whose father is music legend Marc Anthony, has slowly stepped into a more expressive personal style, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed.
