Chris Pratt and his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger recently enjoyed a sunny family getaway, visiting her mother, Maria Shriver, and the extended family in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
The Marvel actor was all smiles as he relaxed on the water, spending time with Katherine’s uncle Anthony Shriver and her younger brother, Christopher. In photos shared Friday on Instagram by Katherine, Pratt flaunted his superhero physique while bonding with his in-laws at the storied family retreat.
Among the many candid shots was a warm image of Pratt seated on a boat beside his mother-in-law Maria and his and Katherine’s five-year-old daughter, Lyla. He was wrapped in a towel, shirtless, while Shriver looked radiant in a pink-patterned dress with white teardrop-shaped tassels and a white visor, her hair flowing in the breeze.
Another heartwarming moment captured Pratt in the water with Lyla, as she lovingly clung to his shoulders while he smiled up at the camera. The actor also tapped into his adventurous side, seen climbing a towering red-and-white buoy alongside some of his in-laws—footage of which Katherine shared to her Instagram Stories.
In addition to Lyla, Katherine and Chris share two more children: three-year-old Eloise and nine-month-old Ford. It’s unclear if the younger two joined the Cape Cod outing. Pratt also has a 13-year-old son, Jack, from his previous marriage to actress Anna Faris, whom he was with from 2009 until 2018.
The Guardians of the Galaxy star began dating Schwarzenegger in 2018, and the couple tied the knot in June 2019 during a private ceremony in Montecito, California, attended by her parents, Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger. However, their recent family gathering followed a tough week for Pratt on social media.
Earlier in the week, the Guardians of the Galaxy star stirred controversy after expressing support for his extended family member, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and his “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) agenda associated with the Trump administration.
The backlash began after Pratt made the remarks during an appearance on Club Random, the podcast hosted by comedian Bill Maher. Maher, a friend of Kennedy’s, has hosted him on both his talk show and podcast. On the episode, Pratt shared: “There are parts of the ‘MAHA’ agenda he loves and that he wishes him well in his efforts.”
While Pratt stressed that his support focused on shared goals—such as reducing toxins in food—many online critics viewed his comments as tone-deaf or even dangerous. Despite the uproar, Pratt, who often champions unity across political divides, continues to stand by his remarks. His marriage to Katherine Schwarzenegger makes him a cousin-by-marriage to Kennedy, further tying him to the high-profile political family.
