Adriana Paz's life changed with "Emilia Perez." The film, led by Karla Sofía Gascón and Zoe Saldaña, was one of last year's biggest critical hits, winning awards at the Cannes Film Festival and becoming the most nominated film at the Oscars. But the movie's dream award run was derailed by Gascón's comments and opinions, which she shared on social media, and went viral after various users and publications began to share them.

Paz has addressed Gascón and their relationship, revealing that she bears her no ill will. "I haven't fought with her. What I had to say to her, I already said, and I won't crucify her," she said, as reported by the Mexican publication El Universal.

"Who am I to judge? Every person is responsible for the things they say and do, and they have to assume that, but I don't hate her nor wish her ill."

"If I run into her, I'll surely say hello, because she was my castmate and my scene partner, and she was generous in her role. I think her work has nothing to do with what she said. She did great work, and she left her skin on set. I won't deny that," she said.

Gascón's Oscar night

While Gascón was abruptly cut off from participating in the awards season, she did attend the Oscars, an experience that was incredibly memorable for her, enjoying her nomination as a lead actress, marking the first time an openly trans woman was nominated for the Oscars.

She enjoyed her evening alongside her wife, Marisa Gutierrez, and their daughter, Victoria. She also partied with Madonna, sharing some photos with the pop icon and a touching message.

“I want to thank you for all the love you’ve given me, for your invitation to the party you threw after the Oscars, and for your words of love and strength,” she wrote over a photo of herself and Madonna shared on Instagram. “I love you.”

“When I entered the room, you hugged me so deeply it broke my heart," she continued. "I don’t like to see people cry, and with this movie, I can’t stop. I hold in my soul this special moment and the beautiful photographs we took together, which I hope will soon see the light of day. Much success and love."
