Chris Pratt is opening up about his family ties to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World actor, who is married to Katherine Schwarzenegger, said he enjoys spending time with her cousin, the controversial U.S. Health Secretary, despite Kennedy’s widely criticized stance on vaccines.

Pratt shared his thoughts during an appearance on Bill Maher’s Club Random podcast. He explained, “I’ve spent a number of occasions hanging out with Bobby, just as a strictly family dinner kind of vibe, and I really get along with him well.”

“I think he’s great. I think he’s funny. I like him, I love him.”

Pratt also reflected on the overlap he sees between politics and Hollywood, describing both as “nasty business.”

The actor said, “I’m not in politics, obviously, but there’s a certain level to this in Hollywood, because Hollywood itself is a political institution. I’ve seen in Hollywood how the person you are can be such a contrast to the person that people are being told that you are, and you can go, ‘Wow, that is pure fiction.’

"So my little bit of experience, I’ve been able to see how the person that you are can be sometimes in stark contrast to the person that your enemy is saying that you are. And in politics, you inherit enemies."

Pratt emphasized that he doesn’t dive into political conversations with RFK Jr. when they’re together.

He said, “I’m not gonna pick his brain to find out exactly which of those things are true. I just kind of assume that none of them are? And for the most part, I wish him well, man.”

Still, not everyone welcomed Pratt’s comments. John F. Kennedy’s grandson, Jack Schlossberg, criticized the actor on Instagram. He shared an image of the headline with Pratt's words and wrote, “Interesting! Cutting MILLIONS $$ to life saving cancer research is wonderful? Killing mRNA vaccine research is funny? @prattprattpratt just HATES red food dye.”

He continued, "also didn’t @prattprattpratt play a character who worked as a civil servant for parks and rec department ? What about Trump’s cuts to national parks, to NOAA and disaster relief ? Or I guess Pawnee was local govt … so this is more about state’s rights — Should we have a convo about cooperative federalism then ? Come on my show ! TEST DRIVE @prattprattpratt"
