Ben Affleck turns 53: Inside his life after Jennifer Lopez, focused on his kids and a fresh start

It has been a year since Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez decided to end their marriage. The pair faced a highly publicized divorce that shocked many for their sudden decision, especially after fans believed their second chance at love had proven successful. Now, the actor turns 53, and he does so with a clear goal in mind: rebuilding his personal life.

What Ben Affleck said about the failed marriage:

“There’s no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue,” Affleck said to GQ earlier this year after announcing the separation from the singer, who had to cancel her tour following the heartbreaking news. He went on to explain, "It's just a story about people trying to figure out their lives and relationships in ways that we all sort of normally do."

A year after that difficult moment, the actor has shown that he’s on good terms with both of his exes, as he continues to co-parent and have amicable relationships.

While no longer romantically involved, Ben Affleck has earned a reputation as one of Hollywood’s most amicable exes. This is evident in the great relationship he maintains with Jennifer Garner, the mother of his three children, Violet, Fin, and Samuel, as well as with Jennifer Lopez, with whom he has remained cordial despite their tough decision last summer.

Even though he didn’t have children with the 'Let’s Get Loud' singer, Ben has always had a close relationship with Lopez’s twins, Max and Emme, who turned 17 this past February.

It wasn’t unusual to see them alongside his children in family outings, and Affleck never hesitated to blend both families together. Most recently, the twins joined the actor at the premiere of his latest movie in Los Angeles.

A summer dedicated to his family:

Spending quality time and creating sweet memories, Affleck has devoted much of this summer to being with his children and his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. The former couple was recently seen attending a baseball game at Fenway Park between the Boston Red Sox and the Tampa Bay Rays.

Two of their children, 16-year-old Fin and 13-year-old Samuel, joined them for the outing. Whether it's grabbing coffee, grocery shopping, or engaging in creative family plans, Affleck and Garner seem completely aligned when it comes to co-parenting. 

Focusing on his career: 

On the professional side, Affleck returned to the spotlight this year with 'The Accountant 2,' the sequel to his 2016 hit film 'The Accountant.' This comes after a relatively quiet year in which his only screen appearances were related to Lopez’s projects.

His last major release was Air in 2023, a critically acclaimed film about the story behind Nike’s iconic sneakers. With multiple projects lined up for the coming year, Affleck appears ready to resume his life and career after several challenging months.

Affleck and Garner were married from 2005 to 2018. After their divorce, he married Jennifer Lopez in 2022. Before that, he had a widely publicized relationship with Hollywood star Ana de Armas, who is now reportedly dating Tom Cruise, as reported by ¡HOLA!.

Affleck and Lopez divorced in 2025, having given their love story a second chance. The two originally met in 2002 on the set of 'Gigli,' which premiered the following year. Lopez was married at the time, but after her divorce, she revealed in a November 2002 interview with Diane Sawyer that she and Affleck were engaged. They split in January 2004.

As for Garner, she has been dating businessman John Miller since 2018. The couple has kept their long-term relationship out of the spotlight, but Miller has spoken positively about Garner’s co-parenting dynamic with Affleck.
