Two days ago Chris Hemsworth turned 42. “Happy birthday to my Rocky Balboa. You’re the best of the best,” Elsa Pataky wrote in a post where she celebrated her husband with a very funny video. The actor who is training hard for his return to The Avengers decided to mark the occasion with a party in true Ibiza style.
Alongside his brother Liam Hemsworth and celebrities like Taika Waititi, Rita Ora, and fellow actor Matt Damon, Chris enjoyed the Mediterranean waters of the Pityusic Islands surrounded by fans. Notable was Pataky's absence from the yacht the actor rented to spend a summer day with his close friends.
The photos were taken last Sunday, a day before his actual birthday. Chatting with various guests on the boat and greeting his friends from the industry, Chris made the most of a special day in one of the top celebrity hotspots this time of year, Ibiza. It’s no surprise that many local and international stars choose to spend their vacation weeks enjoying the island’s coves and culinary scene.
Also at the celebration was Rita, singer, entrepreneur, and wife of Waititi, who didn’t want to miss this special evening for her friend and colleague. The pictures speak for themselves: perfect weather and an exclusive gathering on the island’s crystal-clear waters. Chris used this getaway, filled with friends, laughter, and a great vibe, to recharge before returning to work.
An adventurous family
Even though Pataky missed this important evening, she never hesitates to show how strong her marriage is whenever she can. Proof of that is the sweet video she posted on social media to celebrate his birthday, as well as their wedding anniversaries and any professional achievements they reach. The Hemsworth-Pataky family lives in Broken Head, in the heart of a nature reserve in Australia, where they enjoy surfing, horseback riding, outdoor hikes, and nights around the fire. “Being together is a gift in itself,” Elsa has said on more than one occasion.
Chris has said in several interviews that his greatest joy is at home. “The most important thing for me is that my kids see me happy and committed to what I do,” he explained in a recent talk, where he also hinted that this chapter as Thor could be his last: “Playing Thor has been one of the greatest honors of my life... Thank you for making my journey through the Marvel Cinematic Universe unforgettable.. Next up, Doomsday!" And while the future of his character is still not fully decided, the truth is the actor is enjoying a moment of personal and professional fulfillment. “We’re happier than ever,” Pataky admitted a few months ago. Chris sums it up simply: “If she’s happy, I’m happy.”
