Kylie Jenner is referencing one of the great pop icons in some new photos. The images show her looking amazing and showcasing her abs as she paid tribute to one of Madonna's most emblematic looks.
Jenner shared the photos on her Instagram stories, showing her in an all black outfit, made up of a long skirt and a cone bra, showing off her abs. She styled her hair long and wavy, with its natural dark color highlighted by her clothing.
She rounded it all off with some triangle heels, giving the look a chic and elegant edge.
“I look major,” Jenner wrote over one of the photos, sharing how excited she was to show off this look with her followers. The photos are a part of a photoshoot alongside her sisters and her mom, likely taken for the new season of "The Kardashians."
The cone bra is one of Madonna's most iconic items, and has been associated with her ever since she began to use it throughout her tours in the '90s.
The history of Madonna's cone bra
Madonna first wore the cone bra on her Blond Ambition tour in 1990, kicking off one of the most controversial and beloved eras of her music, which paved the way for her to become the icon that she is today.
The cone bra was designed by Jean Paul Gaultier, and was one of the main outfits she wore on tour, with her first wearing a pinstripe suit and shedding clothing items until she uncovered the cone bra suit underneath. Madonna's version was pale pink and was a part of a corset that was styled with a belt.
Gaultier revealed that Madonna reached out to him to design her concert's looks, sending him a handwritten note discussing how much she valued his work and revealing some of her vision for her show.
“When Madonna first called me in 1989, it was two days before my ready-to-wear show, and I thought my assistant was joking,” said Gaultier in an interview with The New York Times. “I was a big fan. She knew what she wanted—a pinstripe suit, the feminine corsetry. Madonna likes my clothes because they combine the masculine and the feminine.”
