Serena Williams is back from her European getaway. The Olympian was spotted leaving Fouquet’s Hotel in New York City this week, joined by her husband Alexis Ohanian, their two daughters Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. and Adira River Ohanian, and her beloved fur child, Chip.
The 42-year-old tennis icon looked comfy and stylish in a burgundy romper and sandals. She showed off her strength by carrying both her youngest daughter and the family’s tiny Yorkshire terrier as they made their way through the city.
Williams has only given birth to two children, but Christopher “Chip” Rafael Nadal, whom she named after the Spanish champion, is every bit part of the family. She scooped the tiny dog that had been part of Serena’s life for nearly a decade, treating him like a tiny king as they walked through the street.
She confirmed the dog was named after Rafa at a Wimbledon press conference, "He's done a lot in 2022. He's been busy. I've always been a Rafa fan. I named my dog after him. He's so cute. I miss the little guy. So obviously I'm always rooting for Rafa. So yes, he's been really inspiring in everything that he's done this year, and he has a lot more to do," she said.
Serena's epic summer
In July, Serena was soaking up the sun in Italy and Greece. She shared glimpses of her trip on Instagram with her last carousel from Sardinia last week. The tennis legend posed in a red dress during golden hour, truly glowing.
A couple of weeks ago, she was aboard a yacht with her girls. She shared a carousel posing in her blue bikini with crystal-clear waters, and her abs on display.
Once she got back from the vacation, she hit the court, revealing that she had replaced her sister Venus Williams as her doubles partner. Earlier this week, she shared a photo of herself about to hit a ball while carrying Adira. "I never thought I would have to carry my doubles partner," she quipped. "Caution, don’t try this at home!" she warned.
Serena may have replaced Venus on the court, but the sisters have another project in the works. They have a new podcast debuting in August on X, formerly known as Twitter. The podcast will center around guest interviews with “visionaries, creators and rulebreakers passionate about shattering the status quo” to give fans “a front-row seat into their playful banter and undeniable bond,” according to a press release.
