Davidson was recently on the New York premiere of his movie "The Home," where he spoke about becoming a father and some of the things he's looking forward to within the next months. "It's the best thing I'll do. And I couldn't be happier to do it with the person that I'm doing it with," he said, mentioning his girlfriend Hewitt, whom he's been dating for the past year.

"She's wonderful and I'm excited to see her as a mom, as excited as I am to become a dad."

Davidson also discussed the reactions of the people in his life, and how excited they are for him to step into this new role. "They know that that's my dream," he said.

When it comes to the future, Davidson made it clear that being a father is his priority. "Baby comes first," he said. "What's great about it is that you realize that this is just a job. It'll have to be a very good job for me to leave that."

Hewitt shared the news of the pregnancy on Instagram, sharing various photos of herself and Davidson over the past weeks, including the photo of the baby's first sonogram. "Welp now everyone knows we had sex,” she captioned the post, which also featured a couple of memes.

Davidson jumps into a new genre

Davidson also discussed his new movie "The Home," which is a horror project that stars him in the lead role. It marks his first lead in a project that's not a comedy, something that was scary and exciting for him.

"It's very scary to deviate from comedy. Sometimes you get sent stuff and you're like, I don't know how that's gonna work with me. Or there's not an element of trust. But I have known James [DeMonaco, the director] forever. So I know he was not gonna make me look bad."

In the case of DeMonaco, he had nothing but praise for Davidson and revealed that he adapted to the script and the role instantly.

"He nailed it," he said. "He's working with theater-trained actors and Shakespearean actors, and Pete just effortlessly entered into that game."

'The Home' explores a creepy retirement home

"The Home" is directed and co-written by DeMonaco, known for his work in "The Purge" movies, which have grown into one of the most prolific horror franchises in recent memory. The film stars Davidson as a rebellious guy who's sentenced to some community service in a retirement home. Once he starts working there, he's warned off of the residents of the fourth floor, who require special care and are forbidden to interact with.

Of course, he has to dig deeper, uncovering some scary and disturbing secrets. "The Home" premieres this July 25th in theaters.

More details about Davidson and Hewitt's relationship

Davidson and Hewitt confirmed their relationship earlier this year, after the two were photographed kissing on the beach. While they're both in the entertainment industry, Davidson has opted to lead a more private life.

In the past, Davidson has made headlines due to his dating life and has discussed how upsetting it all was. “It was pretty humiliating and upsetting, honestly," he said to Page Six.

"Everyone is dating everyone and it’s Hollywood. Look at Paul Mescal, Timmy [Chalamet], Barry Keoughan. But because I’m ugly, they wrote about me. I was harassed for like five years and it made my life a living hell.”

He added that while he wanted people to focus on his work, all they could do was focus on his love life. “I was one of the youngest ever cast members on ‘SNL’ and all that got pushed to the side because of who I was dating,” he said.
