Kelly Ripa is not shy when it comes to discussing the intricacies of her marriage. The TV personality, who's been married to Mark Consuelos for the past three decades, has opened up about their sex lives and one of their biggest differences as a couple. In an appearance on a podcast, Ripa revealed how she curbed Consuelos' "repulsive" morning habits.

In an appearance on the podcast "Not Skinny, Not Fat," Ripa discussed some of the dynamics in her relationship, including their sexual differences. Ripa revealed that Consuelos is a fan of morning sex, something that she hasn't managed to get behind. "I find it disgusting," she said.

"I said to him, ‘Here’s the thing... There needs to be a yin and a yang here. It can’t always be your way. It feels like 90 percent of the time it’s your way, and now that we work together every day, it’s gonna have to sometimes be my way. And my way’s at night only," she said.

Ripa and Consuelos began working together following Ryan Seacrest's departure from "Live with Kelly and Ryan" in 2023. Now, the show is called "Live with Kelly and Mark," and has retained its success due to the couple's banter and funny dynamic. Ripa revealed that having their busy mornings has been a blessing in disguise.

“The greatest thing about this job, this thing has almost repulsed him from morning time during the work week, which is like a miracle,” she said. “May this show last until he suffers from erectile dysfunction,” she continued, making the host laugh. “He’s in his mid-50s now. Shouldn’t that be happening now? I was promised."

Why Ripa is not a fan of morning sex

Ripa also shared why she's not the biggest fan of morning sex, revealing that she doesn't find it the most romantic, and that she's slow to function as a person in the mornings.

“I have a retainer in, I gotta rip that out,” she said. “And he’s got his nasal strips on. It’s like we are the most repulsive, disgusting people. I’m already pre-disgusted for tomorrow morning," she joked.
