Mariah Carey reacts to Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos' wedding in viral moment

Mariah Carey had few but memorable words to say when it comes to the year's most notorious wedding. Following Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's opulent Venice wedding, Carey was asked about the event by some photographers, prompting a response that went viral on X.

"What did you think about Jeff Bezos' wedding?" asked the photographer. Carey was recorded wearing an all black outfit and some sunglasses, walking towards her vehicle as she was flanked by her security. 

"I wasn't there," said Carey. 

"Were you not invited or what?" said the photographer. 

Carey laughed and said, "Oh, don't turn this into that." The photographer laughed and respected her answer, allowing her to move on and thanking her for the exchange. 

Carey's response prompted a lot of reactions from her fans. "Queen is unbothered and just smiles," wrote someone. 

"She's so classy, I love her," wrote a second person. 

A viewer took matters further, writing, "I don't think she knows them," and adding a crying emoji.

Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos married earlier this summer, with the two hosting an extravagant, days-long event in Venice, attended by some of the world's most notorious celebrities and billionaires. The guest list was made up of clashing personalities like Bill Gates, Sam Altman, Sydney Sweeney, Leonardo DiCaprio, The Kardashians, Tom Brady, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, and more. 

The wedding reportedly cost around $20 million and resulted in local protests, with some Venetians upset that their small and tourist-heavy city was used as the wedding venue. 

Despite the controversies, the wedding guests loved the party, with Kim Kardashian praising and congratulating her close friend, Sanchez. “What a beautiful bride you are,” she wrote in social media. "We all cried watching you walk down the aisle in pure bliss!"
