Apple Martin is proving the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, quite literally. On Thursday, July 3, the 21-year-old was spotted out for a stroll in the Hamptons, walking her dog in a casual look, looking very much like her famous mom, down to her effortlessly cool style.

Apple was photographed wearing a white sweater, navy shorts, and matching Mary Jane flats. With her blonde hair pulled into an updo and rocking oversized sunglasses hiding her face, she turned heads with her striking resemblance to her mother, Gwyneth Paltrow.

Apple is the eldest child of the actress, and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. She is currently a student at Vanderbilt University and has made it clear she draws serious fashion inspiration from her Oscar-winning mom, especially when it comes to raiding the archives.

“I’ll sneak into her closet and steal little things,” she told Interview magazine in April. “My absolute favorite stuff is her old Calvin Klein from the ’90s. I have a lot of it and it’s the best thing in the world. Going into her archive closet is just heaven on earth.”

Paltrow apparently encourages the habit. “She lets me steal stuff because she’s like, ‘I saved it all so that you could steal it,’” Apple said in the same interview. “Then she’s always like, ‘You have to be so careful.’ [Back in the day, she would wear] a cheetah print coat, hair clips, sunnies and some cool wedged sandals. I love that.”

The close mother-daughter bond has been well documented over the years, especially since Apple left for college, a transition Paltrow has spoken about emotionally. “It’s been a major transition. I didn’t know what to expect, but I knew it would be hard because Apple and I are so close and were together all the time,” she told Us Weekly in 2022.

“But I had no idea. It was like the worst heartbreak I’ve ever [felt]. I felt like the love of my life broke up with me for weeks. It was terrible." She added, “Now, I’m getting more used to it and it also helps to see her happy and well-adjusted. That makes a huge difference."

Last year Paltrow celebrated Apple’s 20th birthday with a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, posting baby pictures, a candid birthday selfie, and even a throwback that left fans stunned at their resemblance. “How can it be that you are 20 today? It feels surreal! You are the most extraordinary, the most hilarious, the most brilliant.. I love your WWII insights as much as I love your physical comedy,” Paltrow wrote.

“You are the most fun to be with and you have always been. From those days when it was always you and me to now, you are my lil ride or die. You are everything to me and I am so proud of you. Have the best day, my peanut.”
