"Superman" just got an injection of excitement. The movie of the summer has everyone talking, with fans excited to see a new iteration of one of the world's leading superheroes. The film's director recently revealed that Bradley Cooper will be playing a key part in the film.
© GettyJames Gunn, the director and writer of Superman, shared that Cooper is playing a role in the film, one of its most historic.
"Really, Bradley’s just doing me a favor," said Gunn in an interview with "Jake's Takes."
"I just said, ‘Hey, will you do me a favor? Come down, go to England, we’re going to shoot you in a 3D environment, make a hologram of you, and you can play Jor-El. He was like, ‘Okay.'"

The character is Superman's biological father and has been featured in many Superman stories, usually making appearances in the Fortress of Solitude, Superman's headquarters. In the past, the character has been played by Marlon Brando and Russell Crowe.
Gunn and Cooper's friendship

"He’s a friend. We’ve stayed in close contact since the Guardians movies, and I admire him greatly as an actor and as a director," said Gunn.
The fact that Cooper's role was revealed so early in the press tour shows that the reveal isn't a big twist and that while his appearance is minor, it's likely a key part of the story and of Superman's character development. It's also a confirmation of rumors that had been long circulating the film and getting many fans excited.
