Lauren Sánchez officially became Mrs. Bezos on Friday in Venice. The former journalist and space traveler tied the knot with the billionaire in an opulent Italian wedding, walking down the aisle in a Dolce & Gabbana couture gown.
The stunning lace dress featured a high neck and long sleeves, completed with a corseted waist and 180 chiffon-covered buttons, inspired by Sophia Loren’s bridal look from the 1958 film 'Houseboat.'
"It went from ‘I want a simple, sexy modern dress’ to ‘I want something that evokes a moment,’" Lauren told Vogue, adding, “It is a departure from what people expect — from what I expect—but it’s very much me.”
Lauren commented on her bridal look, “It’s the first formal dress I’ve ever worn that is so covered up across the chest,” she said. “But it’s where I am right now. I’m a different person than I was five years ago.”
Her bridal transformation didn’t stop there. For the reception, she changed into another corseted gown, this time with a sweetheart neckline nodding to Rita Hayworth’s 'Gilda.'
Later, at the afterparty, Sánchez sparkled in an Oscar de la Renta dress adorned with 175,000 crystals and 600 yards of hand-sewn chain. The ceremony took place on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, with a star-studded guest list.
Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Orlando Bloom, to name a few, were in attendance. Meanwhile, the groom wore a classic black tuxedo, also Dolce & Gabbana, as the two exchanged vows aboard the billionaire’s $500 million yacht.
Lauren completed her look with Dolce & Gabbana Alta Gioielleria earrings featuring diamonds cut from a single stone. As her “something blue,” she carried a small memento from her all-female Blue Origin space flight, which included Katy Perry and Gayle King, calling it “one of the most profound experiences I’ve ever had.”
The gown reportedly took over 900 hours to complete. But the idea started a year and a half earlier at dinner with designer Domenico Dolce. “I researched pictures of brides in the 1950s,” she told Vogue. “I saw Sophia Loren with her hands in a prayer position, in high lace, up to the neck, and I said, ‘That’s it. That’s the dress.’”
Lauren officially confirmed the marriage on Instagram, posting a photo with the caption “06/27/2025” and changing her name on the platform to Lauren Sánchez Bezos.
