The countdown begins for the wedding of the year in Venice. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez will say “I do” before an illustrious guest list in one of the most romantic cities in the world. Impressive yachts sail the waters of the lagoon, awaiting the arrival of the event that will bring together the most important celebrities from the worlds of politics, finance, and entertainment.
Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, have already arrived in the city of canals accompanied by their children. Designer Diane Von Furstenberg, Bezos’s father, Ted Jorgensen, an American billionaire and investor Bill Diller are also in attendance. The trickle of guests has only just begun for what promises to be the most important social event of the year.
Ahead of the festivities kicking off on Thursday, over 90 private jets will touch down in Venice, transporting attendees to the most extravagant wedding of the year, which will have a variety of activities from pre-wedding foam parties to sleepovers, formal dinners and more.
According to multiple reports, including The Guardian in the UK, locals in Venice have spotted the arrival of a superyacht owned by Shahid Khan, the Pakistani American billionaire and owner of Fulham FC, sparking further talk ahead of the big celebration. Also, Canadian investor and former talent agent (Hollywood elite) Michael Kives and his wife, Lydia.
The guest list is expected to be packed with A-listers, spanning celebrities, dignitaries, and athletes. TMZ and USA Today report that possible attendees include Lauren’s ex, NFL star Tony Gonzalez, who would attend with his wife, Tobie Gonzalez. Another football legend to be part of the celebration appears to be Tom Brady.
The Kardashian clan, Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner (with her partner Corey Gamble), and Khloe Kardashian, are reportedly on the guest list, along with Oprah Winfrey and her close friend, CBS Mornings co-anchor Gayle King, who famously joined Lauren on Blue Origin's space mission.
From Hollywood, Orlando Bloom and singer Katy Perry, who have vacationed with the couple in the past, would most likely be there. However, rumors of a breakup and Perry’s touring schedule suggest Bloom may be attending solo and “single”.
Latina icons and longtime friends of Lauren, Salma Hayek and Eva Longoria, are also rumored to be attending.
Other high-profile names speculated to appear include tech mogul Bill Gates, music legend Mick Jagger, actor Leonardo DiCaprio, and Elton John.
While he will not be attending, The New York Times previously reported that Donald Trump had been invited but declined the invitation.
