It took a few months for Jorge Ramos, one of the most recognized journalists in Latin American media, to return to the screen after completing 40 years at Univision. He has officially announced the launch of his new digital news channel, "Así Veo las Cosas." Through this platform, he reports on the latest developments regarding migrant deportations in the United States.

In light of this new beginning, Ramos has shared his thoughts on how he is navigating the present. He acknowledges his children and his partner's challenges as they see him venture into dangerous areas for his work.

With renewed energy, Ramos is now embracing this phase as one of the most fulfilling of his life. Recently, he traveled to Los Angeles, where he collected testimonies from immigrants affected by current policies.

"It was my return as a reporter, after leaving the news anchor desk and being out of the news world for half a year. It was a symbolic moment in many ways: because of the importance of immigrants who resist deportation and family separation policies, and on a personal level, because of the opportunity to return to the profession I love so much at such a key moment...," he said in an interview with People en Español.

In this context, the renowned journalist has another important mission — to give strength and voice to his opinions from his position as an independent journalist. "I'm at a point where there's no need to hold anything back — it's time to speak out without fear. I've been a journalist for more than 40 years, and I know that at 67 years old, this is my last chapter. And I want to make the most of it. I think I still have one or two more battles left to fight," he said.

His Children and Wife's Concern

Committing fully to journalism is no simple task, even though his passion for the profession has led him to various conflict zones worldwide. Ramos acknowledges that his family, including his children and wife, Chiquinquirá Delgado, has expressed concern for his safety, but they respect and understand his dedication to his work.

"They don't like it, and they worry, but they understand that this is not a profession for the silent and that it's what I chose to do in life. Goodbyes before leaving for a war or a dangerous place are always hard. Deep down, what matters most is knowing they support me, that they're proud of me, and that I can come back home and look into the eyes of the people who love me the most," he affirmed.
