With renewed energy, Ramos is now embracing this phase as one of the most fulfilling of his life. Recently, he traveled to Los Angeles, where he collected testimonies from immigrants affected by current policies.
"It was my return as a reporter, after leaving the news anchor desk and being out of the news world for half a year. It was a symbolic moment in many ways: because of the importance of immigrants who resist deportation and family separation policies, and on a personal level, because of the opportunity to return to the profession I love so much at such a key moment...," he said in an interview with People en Español.

"I'm at a point where there's no need to hold anything back — it's time to speak out without fear. I've been a journalist for more than 40 years, and I know that at 67 years old, this is my last chapter. And I want to make the most of it. I think I still have one or two more battles left to fight," he said.

Committing fully to journalism is no simple task, even though his passion for the profession has led him to various conflict zones worldwide. Ramos acknowledges that his family, including his children and wife, Chiquinquirá Delgado, has expressed concern for his safety, but they respect and understand his dedication to his work.

Goodbyes before leaving for a war or a dangerous place are always hard. Deep down, what matters most is knowing they support me, that they're proud of me, and that I can come back home and look into the eyes of the people who love me the most," he affirmed.
