Selena Gomez is marking a new era with a drastic hair transformation, which includes bangs, shag, and a whole new vibe. This weekend, the 'Only Murders in the Building' star revealed her summer hairstyle, showcasing a messy, '70s-inspired wolf cut, complete with forehead-grazing fringe and tousled curls.
Selena took to social media to show off her new look with a stunning selfie. “I would, but I’d regret it, then get it redone so I simply wont #bangs,” she captioned the post, looking carefree in a white bathrobe and natural curls around her face.
The hair transformation was created by celebrity stylist Orlando Pita. The layered cut added texture and movement, echoing the iconic bedhead shags once worn by legends like Jane Fonda, Mick Jagger, and Joan Jett. Thick bangs cut just above the brow added that soft yet wild edge, perfect for summer.
"New hair, who dis?" joked Hung Vanngo, Selena's longtime makeup artist, who hard-launched the look with a selfie of the two together. Selena is no stranger to changing her look, and she has rocked the bob on numerous occasions.
She has previously worn it flipped, waved, wet, straight, and sleek, styling it for the red carpet and in casual curls for fun outings. Her past bang phases include Bardot-style curtain fringe to curly cuts and micro bangs. Just last year, she debuted long ‘70s bangs for her friend Nicola Peltz Beckham’s 'Lola' premiere.
Selena is also leaning into the retro look with 60s-style makeup. While the singer and actress is keeping herself busy with multiple projects lined up, she seems to have time for reinvention this summer.
Most recently, she attended Rare Beauty’s 4th annual Mental Health Summit in Los Angeles, where she wore a sharp white blazer with flared denim and white pumps. It's unclear if Selena's new look is part of a new role or if she is just having fun and changing up her look for the season.
