Fans of Anitta are expressing their concern for the singer’s health after she announced on social media this week that she had been hospitalized due to an emergency. This situation forced her to cancel an important performance at São João de Campina Grande in Brazil, where she was scheduled to perform for the first time. Not only did this leave her feeling sad, but it also raised serious concerns about her well-being since she required urgent medical attention.

To address potential rumors and misinformation regarding her health and the concert, Anitta shared a voice note on her Instagram channel, stating: “Unfortunately, my first show at São João in Campina Grande won’t be happening. I don’t need to explain how sad I am. It’s been a challenging year for me in terms of commitments and cancellations.”

Anitta explained that her emergency was due to a severe bacterial infection that had been troubling her for days. Still, she hadn’t given it the attention it required, which worsened the situation:

“I have a severe bacterial infection, which is pretty complicated. It had been bothering me for a few days, but I was absolutely sure I would be fine by today.”

Her health condition was serious enough that she had to cancel the concert and miss a meeting with Brazil’s Minister of the Environment, Marina Silva, in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday. She expressed her frustration, saying,

“Today, there’s also a meeting with Minister Marina Silva about the environment here in Rio. I was absolutely sure I would be there today. It’s very frustrating to not be able to attend because of this.”

Currently, Anitta is under the care of specialized doctors who are helping her combat the infection and recover as quickly as possible, though she needs plenty of rest. In addition to rest, she is receiving intravenous antibiotics to expedite the healing process.

“Everything is under control, but the treatment is slow. I know everything will be fine. I appreciate your support. I’m going to be okay — everything will be alright,” she assured her fans.

Finally, she shared: “I love you all. I think about you every day. I hope you understand. I know you’re with me just like I’m always with you. This will pass. I’ll be back soon, God willing, with all your support, my family’s, my friends’, and everyone’s.”

Her 2022 Health Crisis

2022 was a significant year in Anitta’s career, but behind the scenes, the Brazilian singer faced a challenging personal journey due to health concerns. For months, she endured frequent hospital visits, with medical professionals struggling to diagnose her illness. “Last year, I fell seriously ill toward the end of the year, and they couldn’t determine the cause,” Anitta shared during a press conference in Mexico City. “I underwent cancer testing, spent five months in the hospital, had to halt my work, and couldn’t fully capitalize on the success that ‘Envolver’ had brought me because of my severe illness,” she revealed.

“I was on tour in Europe, and I went straight to the hospital from there, and I didn’t leave for five months,” she recalled. “Throughout that time, I constantly heard that I might not make it, that my life was hanging by a thread, and I was determined not to let go of my dream project,” she explained, referring to “A Favela Love Story.”
