Tino, one of Ricky Martin’s twins, has been making waves online lately and is quickly turning into a mini celeb of his own. The 16-year-old recently had a miniature viral moment with a video of himself soaring through the air like Superman, and now, he used his platform for a very heartfelt (and very public) request to his dad.
Valentino, who goes by Tino, took to his Instagram story, where he has 74k followers, to repost a video from the top of a massive skyscraper in Shibuya, one of the busiest and most iconic neighborhoods in Tokyo.
He wrote over the clip, “Hey dad, can we go back?” making sure his dad saw his request by tagging him. The family went a little over a year ago, and it clearly made an impression.
Back in April 2024, Ricky surprised his twins with a dream trip to Japan, a destination the boys had been wanting to visit for years, especially Tino, who’s a huge fan of Japanese anime and film.
The trip was packed with sightseeing, bonding, and all the Tokyo magic you could ask for. They wandered through Shibuya and Ginza, checked out the ultra-modern island of Odaiba, and even made the trip out to see Mount Fuji in all its glory. And of course, they went all in on the food -classic nigiri, teppanyaki straight off the grill, the works.
Tino, who’s passionate about anime and adrenaline-filled activities, frequently shares cosplay looks of his favorite characters - and his dad is his biggest cheerleader.
His recent transformation into Jinwoo, the lead character from the anime Solo Leveling, earned a like not only from Ricky but also from Ricky’s ex-husband, Jwan Yosef, who helped raise the twins for years and remains close to the family. While Ricky hasn’t officially responded to Tino’s post about going back to Japan, the teenager now has fans to help pressure his dad.
With summer vacation just around the corner, the timing of Tino’s request couldn’t be better.
