In a rare and sweet sibling moment, Shawn Mendes was spotted sharing smiles with his younger sister, Aaliyah, during a casual outing in Los Angeles. The pair was seen stopping by Beverly Hills Juice to pick up drinks, enjoying some quality time together away from the spotlight.

Shawn was also photographed walking away with a furry companion cradled gently in his arms. It’s no secret that the musician has a close relationship with his family despite his busy schedule, as he has previously documented his family trips and shared his love and appreciation for his loved ones.

Despite Shawn’s hectic schedule, the siblings share a famously close bond. “I’m really looking forward to spending time with my sister. She’s a bit older now and she’s just really cool to hang out with. I feel like we have a really awesome connection,” he told KISS FM amid his successful career.

“I always want to hang out with her, but she’s 15 now and she’s in high school and we’ve become actually really close friends and I really enjoy hanging with her," he said in 2018.

Born in 2003, in Toronto, Canada, Aaliyah is Shawn’s only sibling. She is five years younger than the singer, and despite being away from the spotlight, she has a large following on social media, where she shares special moments with her dog, friends, and boyfriend Jordan Savage, whom she has been dating since around 2019.

They also celebrated their love with ink. Shawn has two tattoos honoring Aaliyah, including one reading “Aaliyah Maria” just beneath his collarbone. The pair recently walked the red carpet at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, where he introduced his sister and posed for photos with her.

Shawn affectionately called her out on social media, writing, “That’s my sister,” accompanied by heart emojis. At the VMAs, Shawn wore a sleek all-black Dolce & Gabbana outfit, while Aaliyah dazzled in a matching black lace corset and floor-length satin skirt.
