Glen Powell’s ex-girlfriend, model Gigi Paris, has finally opened up about the painful breakup and the ongoing rumors involving Sydney Sweeney, his co-star in the rom-com 'Anyone But You.' Her latest revelations come days after Sydney's statements about her friendship with Glen.
In a recent conversation on Emma Klipstein’s 'Too Much' podcast on Tuesday, Paris, 32, described feeling “shattered” after the public romance rumors between the two actors exploded amid their film’s promotion.
“It was just, this is what I have to do for my job,” Paris said, recalling the difficult choice she faced. “I had two options: either pretend like I was okay with it and have everyone wondering, ‘Are they hooking up? Is she okay with this?’ Or stand up for myself and say, ‘No, I’m actually not okay with this, and I’m walking away.’ So that’s what I decided.”
The two had dated for over three years, but their relationship changed during the filming of the rom-com in Australia. Paris revealed a phone call from Powell, where he told her, “The producers and I have discussed that I think it’s best that you don’t come to visit,” which left her feeling “fed to the dogs.”
Paris expressed deep disappointment with how he handled the situation, particularly his silence over cheating rumors. “Where are you when you just need to stand up and say, ‘No, I would never cheat on my girlfriend. I wouldn’t do that.’ That’s all that needed to be said,” she said. “And that wasn’t said … Never once.”
She further accused the two actors of exploiting the rumored romance for publicity. “It was serving them for their PR,” Paris said. “Later on, it turned out that it was all, I don’t know if there was a relationship there or not, but then they came out to say it was all a PR scheme at the expense of our relationship. Like, it was just crazy.”
Despite the heartbreak, Paris admitted she hoped the rumored couple had found something real. “Honestly, I hoped that they’d end up together, because I was like, at least it would make it worth it for me. I hope they are in love or whatnot.”
Both stars have publicly acknowledged leaning into the romance rumors to promote their film. He told The New York Times in 2024, “Sometimes you just have to lean into it a bit, and it worked wonderfully.”
Sydney’s personal life has also been in the spotlight, having ended her engagement to Jonathan Davino earlier this year. She told The New York Times recently, “I’m learning a lot about myself. Spending more time with my friends. And I’m loving it.”
